Turkey Burgers With No Breadcrumbs

Summer is coming, which means so are burgers. While I do love a beef burger, sometimes it’s nice to switch up the flavor with a good turkey burger. Turkey is also leaner, so it’s great to swap in every now and then.

I used Outer Aisle Gourmet cauliflower thins as my bun to stay low carb and they are truly a perfect sub. I also wanted to keep the burger itself low carb/grain free so I found an awesome recipe that uses tapioca as the binder with mayo instead of breadcrumbs and eggs. The patties came out thick & juicy, just the way I like them!

I got this recipe from The Defined Dish. Here’s how you make it.

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb ground turkey

  • 1 tablespoon Primal Kitchen mayonnaise

  • 1 teaspoon chili powder

  • 1 teaspoon oregano

  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin

  • 2 tablespoons tapioca flour

  • Avocado oil

  • Salt and pepper

Instructions:

  • Mix the all ingredients (except avocado oil) in a bowl with your hands and form 4 patties.

  • Heat a grill pan on medium and cook for 4 mins each side. If adding cheese over with a lid for 2-3 mins until melted. Enjoy!
